Portland Pozzolana Cement
Intergrinding or blending with clinker to produce PPC under IS 1489 (Part 1). The largest single industrial use of fly ash.
Cement plantsVerity Enterprises LLP supplies graded pozzolanic fly ash to cement plants, ready-mix concrete producers, block makers and infrastructure contractors. Tested material, reliable dispatch, clear paperwork.
When pulverised coal burns in a thermal power plant, the mineral matter in the coal melts and then cools rapidly in the flue gas. It solidifies into fine glassy spheres. Electrostatic precipitators capture these particles before they leave the stack. That captured powder is fly ash.
The particles are mostly silica, alumina and iron oxide. In the presence of calcium hydroxide released when cement hydrates, they react slowly to form additional binding compounds. This is called the pozzolanic reaction, and it is why fly ash improves concrete rather than only filling it.
The result is a material that replaces part of the cement in a mix, lowers cost and embodied carbon, and gives denser, more durable concrete at later ages.
Consistency is what a cement or concrete plant buys. We run the supply chain around it.
Dry fly ash drawn from electrostatic precipitator hoppers of approved thermal power stations.
Checked against your required grade for fineness, loss on ignition and moisture before dispatch.
Closed bulk tankers keep the ash dry and dust free. Bagged supply available for smaller orders.
Planned dispatch schedules matched to your silo capacity and daily consumption.
Weighment slip, invoice, e-way bill and test report with every consignment.
Fly ash is classified by chemistry and fineness. Indian practice follows IS 3812. International projects usually specify ASTM C618. The values below are indicative limits.
| Parameter | IS 3812 (Part 1)Siliceous fly ash | ASTM C618Class F | ASTM C618Class C |
|---|---|---|---|
| SiO₂ + Al₂O₃ + Fe₂O₃, min | 70% | 70% | 50% |
| Loss on ignition, max | 5% | 6% | 6% |
| SO₃, max | 3% | 5% | 5% |
| Moisture, max | 2% | 3% | 3% |
| Fineness | Blaine ≥ 320 m²/kg | ≤ 34% retained on 45 µm | ≤ 34% retained on 45 µm |
| Strength activity index, 28 days, min | 80% | 75% | 75% |
| Typical origin | Bituminous and sub-bituminous coal | Bituminous and anthracite coal | Lignite and sub-bituminous coal |
Indicative limits for reference. The binding values are in the current edition of the standard and in your project specification. We supply against the grade you specify and can share test reports on request.
Fly ash is a core input across the construction value chain. These are the segments we supply.

Cement plantsPartial cement replacement in structural and mass concrete for better workability, lower heat of hydration and long-term durability.
RMC plants · IS 456Fly ash bricks, AAC blocks and paver blocks. Lighter, more uniform and more consistent in strength than clay bricks.
Brick and block makersStructural fill for highway embankments and flyovers, and stabilised sub-base layers. The largest volume use in India.
NHAI · State PWD · EPCHydraulic and paste backfill for underground and abandoned mine voids, improving ground stability.
Mining operatorsSoil conditioning and reclamation of low-lying areas. Used where the ash meets the applicable environmental norms.
Land developmentReplacing part of the cement with fly ash is one of the most proven ways to improve a mix and reduce its footprint at the same time.
The pozzolanic reaction continues for months, so concrete keeps gaining strength well past 28 days.
A finer pore structure resists chlorides, sulphates and alkali-silica reaction, extending service life.
Spherical particles act like tiny ball bearings, reducing water demand for the same slump.
Every tonne of cement replaced avoids clinker production and puts an industrial by-product to use.
IS 3812IS 1489IS 456ASTM C618MoEF&CCEN 450Class F comes mainly from bituminous and anthracite coal. It is low in calcium and purely pozzolanic. Class C comes from lignite and sub-bituminous coal. It has higher calcium, so it has some self-cementing behaviour as well. Indian siliceous fly ash under IS 3812 broadly corresponds to Class F.
The permitted level depends on the application, the grade of concrete and the governing code or project specification. Your structural consultant or mix designer sets the percentage. We supply the grade the mix design calls for.
Both. Bulk tankers suit cement plants and RMC batching plants with silos. Bagged supply suits block makers and smaller consumers.
Yes. Tell us the parameters you need when you request a quote, and we share the corresponding test report with the consignment.
Fly ash is an inert, non-combustible powder, but it is fine and can irritate eyes and lungs. Use a dust mask and eye protection, and keep it dry and covered during transport and storage. Dry bulk systems are designed to avoid dust.
